Gethsemane Scholarship Institute serves the youth in the rural community of Fond des Blancs, Haiti.  Our K-7 school has been providing basic education to approximately 200 students a year for the past 20 years.  We are currently working to complete an official school with real classrooms.  Our staff of 8 teachers are unaccredited but former students are now receiving accredited teacher training so they can return and serve as professional teachers in 2011. 

We will be returning to Haiti in 2011 to finish the walls of our classroom and continue to repair the damage to our other buildings from storms after the January 12, 2010 earth quake.  If you would like to join with us in our work or contribute time or resources to help educate children of our school, please do.  We provide about 60 scholarships a year to families that cannot afford our annual $15 tuition for each student. In May 2011 we will start paying our teachers on a monthly basis.  Our goal is to pay them $100 US per month per teacher. We won't be able to do that without your support.
